I had one ticket once - nothing is foolproof I was coming up over a hilltop and there was no way anyone would have picked up the signal - and at that point I was too close - but I have had NUMEROUS instances where I was going too fast and the noisemaker allowed me to slow down and pass Like any other detector I basically ignore the X band as its a false alarm And you need to drive for a while to "learn" the detector to figure out your false alarm areas or triggers - as well as if you go too too fast no Detector will save you anyway So I only use it in order to stay out of nuisance tickets and still get there in time :o and maybe because of my lead foot A great product!!!
I use it everywhere I go and it works great. It has really saved me from a couple of tickets more than once. I like to drive the speed limit but sometimes i like to keep up with people who are flying by me. And now with this rocky mountain radar I know when to let off and watch them get pulled over right in front of my eyes.
Kinda funny but I guess they should of got a rocky mountain radar. Im really pleased with my purchase. Since the LIDAR knows when the pulses go out and measures the distance for each pulse it has all the information it needs to determine target speed.
Of course, there is always the chance for interference so modern LIDAR contains a computer and sends out multiple pulses for each target measurement…often as many as 50 pulses. The computer then samples the data to develop an accurate measurement of speed for the target.
